A Two-Year Discipleship Journey at the church of eleven22

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

10:10 Life Vision from Pastor Joby

We are walking through the second year of a discipleship journey called the 10:10 Life, rooted in John 10:10. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

Be challenged by all that God continues to call us to, put your yes on the table and take a step of obedience. We should leverage everything God has given us, time, talent and treasure, all for His glory and invest in forever instead of storing up treasures on Earth. It will require us to sacrifice time, comfort, resources, certainty and other “life as usual” things to invest in eternal things that never fade.

One of the most important things that the gospel compels us to is generosity. Jesus did not withhold generosity at the cross and we respond by not withholding from Him.

Whether you are new to this journey, staying faithful through it or deepening the commitment of generosity the Lord has called you to, leverage everything God has given you for His glory and be obedient to the doors He opens.

It is time to live in the fullness of life that God has for us.

Pastor Joby Martin

Primary Goal- 100% Engagement

THAT EVERY ONE OF US WOULD ASK OURSELVES, “AM I LIVING THE ABUNDANT LIFE OR AM I CHASING THINGS THAT WILL NEVER TRULY SATISFY?”

Secondary Goal - $136 Million

(expanded from $110 Million) With this expansion, through your generosity we will join God in more of what He is doing in three gospel-centered initiatives.

  • Church Life

    Church Life

$57 Million (expanded from $50 Million)
A movement for ALL people to DISCOVER and DEEPEN a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Eternal Life

    Eternal Life

$50 Million (expanded from $32 Million)
We will continue to make room for one more as we pray and seek guidance in launching campuses around Jacksonville and beyond.

  • Abundant Life

    Abundant Life

$29 Million (expanded from $28 Million)
Through this season, we will partner with different ministries and organizations to see what it could look like for us to come together and help others live an abundant life.

Series Resources

As we walk through the second year of this two-year discipleship journey, we have prepared a list of resources to help you along the way.

What Is Your Role?

Through the 10:10 Life discipleship journey, God is using us to impact all of eternity. Our role is to lean in, listen to His voice and be obedient to what God is calling us to next. He is first, He went first, so we respond by bringing our first and best.

  • You recently joined our church family and are wondering, “What is the 10:10 Life discipleship journey and how do I become a part of it?” 10:10 Life is for anyone who would call Eleven22 their church home and we welcome you to the family! We hope you will join us on this journey, asking, “Am I living the abundant life or am I chasing things that will never satisfy?” Consider making a generosity commitment to 10:10 Life.

  • Others made a 10:10 Life commitment one-year ago and perhaps for some of us, this journey has been as difficult—or possibly more difficult—than we had envisioned. Maybe you went to a completely new level in your generosity and are still adjusting your life to it. Maybe you have experienced job loss, job change or unexpected financial expenses. Persevere to finish strong in this journey that you began. We all stand together, encouraging one another. We know the Lord is faithful. He will provide and we want to finish strong in our commitment to what He called us to in this season.

  • Some of us made our 10:10 Life commitment one-year ago and it is possible that we have had an increase in faith or finances. It is not that keeping our commitment has been easy, because it has likely required a lot of sacrifice. But you may be sensing the Lord stretching you to take an additional step of faith in your generosity. We challenge those of you to respond to His generosity by increasing your commitment.

Generosity is not a one-time event; it is a journey. Consider asking yourself these questions: What/who am I chasing? Am I still giving in a way that challenges me? Pray and ask yourself if He is inviting you into another step of faith with an increased commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • First and foremost, we are asking that you pray and seek God's leading of obedience in your life. Prepare your heart to hear Him and then do what He says. Engage in a disciple group during this season, engage in personal reflection with God in the 10:10 Life discipleship guide that you received during the 10:10 Life series. Talk with your spouse, your family or others about what this commitment will mean for this next season of your life.

We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity — whatever it is that God is leading you towards. Follow His leading. Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. It is an awesome God that we serve and He is going to move in huge ways and we anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective 10:10 Life commitments — something only God can do.

  • If you are new to the 10:10 Life, we would invite you to make a commitment through December 31, 2024. For those that are staying faithful through this journey or deepening the commitment of generosity the Lord has called you to, your commitment will still be for two years, December 2022 – December 2024.

  • You may have been a part of church giving initiatives in the past during which you were asked to give a second gift "above and beyond" your usual gifts to make special initiatives like new buildings and new ministries possible.

Normally, you gave that gift to a "Building Fund" and you also continued to give offerings to the "General Fund."

At Eleven22, we believe that it is all ONE MISSION that we're on — as a movement for ALL people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ. So, we want to encourage all of us to unleash our generosity towards that mission.

This 10:10 Life discipleship journey is from December 2022 — December 2024. Over these two years, every gift that is given to The Church of Eleven22 will go to the three key components of 10:10 Life: Church Life, Eternal Life and Abundant Life.

  • Through the 10:10 Life discipleship journey, every contribution to God through The Church of Eleven22 is a contribution to a "one fund" towards the 10:10 Life.

Every aspect of the ministry vision God is calling us towards will be funded through the 10:10 Life. Every gift made will go into the same fund and will be our 10:10 Life giving.

Therefore, every weekend becomes a day to celebrate and contribute towards what God is doing in us and through us to help ALL people discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards 10:10 Life. You might have stocks, property or other items of that nature. Or you may have stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that He just might be calling you to give out of during this time.

Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock and we would be happy to help you with that. You can contact our finance ministry at giving@coe22.com.

  • 10:10 Life is about your total, radical, sacrificial generosity to God's mission at The Church of Eleven22. We believe that God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as He does in times of abundance and that looks different for every person. But 10:10 Life is about a heart change — one that is only accomplished by surrendering our lives completely over to God in over to God in the area of generosity.

God may be calling you to make a commitment that you don't quite know how to fulfill right now, but that you believe God will provide for as you seek ways to sacrifice and work towards that commitment. It is not about the size of the gift, but your obedience towards what God is calling you to in this season

The primary goal of this discipleship journey is 100% participation of every person that considers The Church of Eleven22 home.

  • If you are someone currently seeking to make payments to pay off debt right now, we commend you for making progress on that. And you should continue to do so.

We would be happy to help you in this journey and/or to recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not, however, make someone "excused" from giving. Giving is not about what God wants from you; rather, it's about what God wants for you.

So, it should be our joy and privilege to give at all times. Please contact us if you need assistance with this or if you would like to speak with a budgeting counselor and we would be honored to help.

  • 10:10 Life was crafted specifically with you in mind. 10:10 Life is a "one fund" generosity initiative, meaning that it is different from a traditional capital campaign where you are called to give an extra gift above and beyond your normal giving - thus creating two steps for people who aren't yet giving. 10:10 Life is a call to sacrificial, gospel-centered generosity for absolutely everyone at The Church of Eleven22.

If you have never given before, this is your chance to get in the game with a committed sacrifice. We really hope you will.

  • 10:10 Life is about the vision for our church. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give towards and we would really love for you to make The Church of Eleven22 your home and join us in 10:10 Life.

If you are ready for it, this is a perfect time for you to put a stake in the ground and make this your church.

  • Great question. People take different spiritual steps at different times. Some people begin praying before they begin attending church.

Others begin going to a disciple group before they begin talking to God in prayer. Giving is another spiritual step and it comes at different times for different people.

One thing is for sure, however just like other spiritual disciplines, giving draws us closer to God. And God is calling all of us to give. (Matthew 6:19)

Whether you have taken the spiritual step of baptism or whether you haven't yet, we would encourage you to still join us in this 10:10 Life Initiative. We firmly believe that it will draw you closer to God and hopefully to a place where you are ready to make the decision to be baptized.
